Environmental monitoring
We carry out environmental surveys in both outdoor and indoor environments, including sampling, analysis, and consultancy. We are accredited for measurements of emissions to air, and determination of a variety of emission parameters and components. We also perform environmental surveys of buildings, indoor climate and occupational hygiene.
Environmental building surveys
As a result of the Norwegian national action plan for construction and engineering waste, there has been a societal focus on the surveying of environmentally hazardous materials in buildings. Nemko Norlab takes an active role in “Forum for miljøkartlegging og sanering” and has for many years conducted surveys of buildings planned to be demolished or renovated. Building materials are investigated with regard to asbestos, PCB, PAH, and other environmentally hazardous substances in line with the guidelines issued by the Norwegian Environment Agency.
Waste regulations
The Norwegian Waste Regulations require waste management plans for projects relating to newbuilds, extensions, demolition, and renovation. This means that waste management plans and remediation specifications, including surveys of any environmentally hazardous materials, must be conducted. The Norwegian Waste Regulations apply to all projects whether they involve newbuilds, extensions exceeding 300 m², demolition or renovation of buildings exceeding 100 m², as well as construction, demolition or renovation projects generating more than 10 tonnes of construction and demolition waste.
